We will be closed on Thursday, November 27 in observance of Thanksgiving. Our CPA firm, Yount, Hyde & Barbour, P.C. (YHB) is currently conducting an annual member verification as part of the audit of the Credit Union. If your account is selected for confirmation, the letter will be mailed from YHB’s Winchester Virginia office and will request that you respond to that same Winchester address using a postage-paid self-addressed envelope. We encourage you to respond to this confirmation request to ensure an efficient audit process. Drop off a new, unwrapped toy at any branch for the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program now through December 12.

Peake Federal Credit Union Supports a Healthier Financial Future

Celebrate August as National Wellness Month and focus on the benefits of your financial health.
Glass jars labeled with savings goals like "TRAVEL" and "CAR," filled with bills and coins, set against a background of US dollar bills, illustrating envelope budgeting for financial wellness.

As we celebrate National Wellness Month this August, many of us focus on physical fitness, healthy habits, and mental well-being. But there’s one critical piece of the wellness puzzle that’s often overlooked—financial health.

At Peake Federal Credit Union, we believe true wellness includes feeling confident and in control of your financial life. Just like regular exercise strengthens your body, healthy money habits can relieve stress, support your goals, and build long-term security.

Here’s how we’re supporting our members’ financial wellness—not just in August, but all year round.

What Is Financial Wellness?

Financial wellness means more than just paying your bills. It’s about:

  • Managing your money effectively
  • Avoiding unmanageable debt
  • Saving for emergencies and long-term goals
  • Feeling secure and confident about your financial future

When your finances are stable, you gain peace of mind—and that positively impacts your physical and emotional well-being.

How Financial Stress Impacts Health

Financial challenges don’t just affect your wallet. Studies show that money-related stress can lead to:
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Insomnia and fatigue
  • Headaches and other physical symptoms
  • Relationship strain
National Wellness Month is the perfect time to reflect on how money stress may be affecting your overall health—and to take small steps toward improving it. At Peake Federal Credit Union, we’re more than your financial institution—we’re your financial partner. Here are just a few of the ways we help our members boost their financial wellness:

We’re here to help you achieve your financial goals. Contact Member Services at 410-828-4730, 800-234-4730 or memberservices@peakefederal.comif you have questions.
